PRIZE FUND: The prize fund, based on 28 teams (@ $47.50 per team), amounted to $1,330.00. Under the Missouri State BPA rules governing this tournament, the prize fund is fully distributed at a 1:5 ratio--that is, one of every five entries (no major fractions) cashes. Accordingly, the First through Fifth place teams cashed.
STATE QUALIFIERS: According to tournament rules, one in every eight teams (including major fractions) qualifies for the Missouri Team Challenge Tournament State Finals, which will be held in June, 2010. The site is still being determined. First place at the State Finals pays at least $2,995.00.
I have enclosed another entry form. Center personnel, please make several copies.
JUST A REMINDER: PLEASE REVIEW RULE 3 ON THE ENTRY FORM REGARDING AVERAGES TO BE USED TO BOWL IN THE TOURNAMENT. ALL AVERAGES MUST BE VERIFIED BY PROPRIETOR OF THE HOUSE BEING REPRESENTED OR ASSOCIATION SECRETARY, AND ACCOMPANIED BY CURRENT LEAGUE SHEET IF APPLICABLE.
Captains, please make sure that your entry is complete and legible AND HAS THE BOWLERS’ USBC ID NUMBER (REQUIRED), so we can get any winners’ checks and State Finals qualifiers’ entries to you without problem or delays.
Thanks again.

We just concluded our event at Gladstone Bowl. There was a tremendous turn-out despite the storm that hit over the weekend. All hosting centers were represented—from north to Maryville, east to Concordia and south to Harrisonville. Of 72 available squad spots 68 were used. We possibly could have had 1-2 more teams but we had a couple last-minute (at check-in time) cancellations, of which we had not been made aware; and, it was too late for us to fill the spots—especially with the weather Sunday. Diamond paid for a 2nd team in accordance with underlying agreements with the hosting houses. As a result, cashers and state finals qualifiers were based on 69 teams.
This was a very exciting tournament. There were three honor scores: an 804 (Mike Vega, Jr., “Possawatomie Bowl” team representing Gladstone Bowl), a 300 (Scott Heinrichs “Nick Diraimo” team also representing Gladstone Bowl) and a 298 (Vince Hernandez, Retro Bowl team). There were also several other series of 700 or better.
I have attached/enclosed tournament results, showing the standings, prize winners and State Finals qualifiers.
Congratulations to our Prize Winners and State Qualifiers!!!
ON A VERY SAD NOTE: I was just notified that one of our tournament bowlers, Mark King, who bowled with the “Boomchuckalucky” team out of Aaron’s Westchester Lanes, Harrisonville, passed away Sunday night after the tournament in a hotel room in the area, apparently from a heart attack or stroke. Mark has bowled the tournament several years and will be missed. Our condolences go out to Mark’s family & teammates.
